The amount of notice required depends on the type of your move. We recommend that you book your international removal four to six weeks prior to departure. Booking ahead will allow us to secure and confirm your move for your preferred dates and give you sufficient time to prepare.
The peak moving period in Australia is from December to January and more notice may be required should you need to move over the Summer months.
Our standard international and interstate moving service includes delivery to a residence up to first floor with clear vehicle access to the property from the street.
We do deliver to multi-storey apartments and properties with difficult access, however additional charges will be applicable and arrangements may need to be made with property body corporate managers.
You do not need to attend the property for the entire packing and moving process, however, if you are unable to attend in person, it is important that you nominate an authorised representative to allow our crews access to your home and be present to check and sign your packing inventory.
Whilst it is unusual for items to be lost or damaged during transit, for your peace of mind we recommend that you take out transit protection. To help you get the right cover, we have put together a cost-effective policy specifically designed to protect your belongings during transit and storage.
Our moving crews will remove bed legs from bed bases as well buffet hutches and other standard furniture items for safe packing and transportation. More complex items such as flat packed Ikea style furniture, shelving units, trampolines, cubby houses and home gym sets will require a specialist handyman service which Crown Relocations can arrange.
Yes, our moving crews are equipped with tools for the safe disconnection of washing machines. We do ask you to prepare the machine for transport by ensuring it is dry and for front loader machines with stability bolts, that the bolts are inserted.
We can move potted plants locally and between some interstate locations. The pots need to be in good condition and not so large that they cannot be handled by two men and trolley. The pots need to be dry so do not water them for 24 hours prior to moving. We generally advise not to move plants interstate as the protracted transit time means plants offer suffer from too much heat and insufficient watering. There are also state quarantine restrictions on plants arriving from Qld and entering WA and Tasmania.
